Swensen’s back home in Thailand only sells ice cream but in Singapore this is a proper restaurant for western food with appetizers, main courses and desserts on the menu. Ice cream of course also includes in the dessert section. Moreover the restaurant is Halal, so no pork no lard.
One Saturday we arrived Swensen’s for dinner around 6.30 pm. The que was very long and the waiter told us the waiting time was about an hour. Anyway we waited for half and hour, but the line didn’t move at all. So we decided to have something else.
Finally we had chance to have dinner at Swensen’s at one of the nearby shopping mall. It was on weekday so there was no que when we reached there.
Black Pepper Seafood Pasta: the spaghetti were cooked perfectly and coated with the sauce. The smell and flavor of black pepper were strong and gave a bit of heat on your tongue. All the seafood given were generous and fresh.
Southern Style Chicken Waffle: first time I tried this dish and it was amazing. The waffle was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and also not too sweet. Chicken sticks were crispy and flavored with aromatic herbs. The syrup on the chicken was incredibly go along with the salty chicken. Fries and coleslaw were very good side dishes as well.
We ordered 2 scoops of ice cream; milo (new flavor) which tasted exactly like milo drink and also cookies and cream. You can also get fancy looking ice cream with sweet toppings.
Swensen’s has many branches in major shopping malls around Singapore.
